Student Research, 2017-2018

Learning by Doing

Our humble club really took off in 17-18.  Students were involved in a half-dozen different projects, and two of them, Jack Lin, and Jamie Collins, went to the Mass State Science Fair. Both were excellent efforts, and Jack's project was selected to go on to the state finals at MIT.
In addition, two of our students, Nick Anasthas and Eamonn Golden,  participated in the month-long MIT Beaverworks program. In it, they worked on power management for an actual cube-sat project, an inexpensive (about $1M) satellite that will monitor ocean temperatures as part of ongoing climate change studies.

Projects, SY17-18

  • Wind Turbine
  • Deep Learning for Brain Computer Interface
  • Essential Oils - Do they really fight infection?
  • Bioluminescence
  • Robotic Hand
  • Jet Engine
