Our team is comprised of a motley crew of 11th and 12th grade students interested in philanthropic science, technology, and food. Each of us brings a unique set of skills to our workspace every Monday and Wednesday. The sharing of ideas and asking of questions is at the very core of our group.

The purpose of this project is to build a functioning, self-sufficient aquaponics system and share our designs and improvements online, specifically with the intent of helping communities that are developing their own systems. Additionally, we intend to showcase our environmentally green system with the school community. Aquaponics combines conventional aquaculture (the raising of snails, fish, crayfish, etc in tanks) with hydroponics (growing plants in water) in a symbiotic environment (both the plants and the aquatic animals benefit from each other).
